Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy Services is an all-volunteer organization with no full-time staff. We always try to respond as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $200 is required.
It is difficult for our organization to do day-time visits, as many of our volunteers also have full-time jobs. Weekend and evening visits are more likely to be accommodated.
Where We Visit
Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy Services works with facilities throughout Santa Clara County and portions of San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties in northern California.
How Our Visits Work
Our program works on a team concept. No team can be approved without a team captain. We have a number of volunteers who might be interested in captaining the team at your site. Alternatively, you might want to have one of your staff members join Furry Friends (they don’t need a pet to join) and have that individual be the team captain.
Our Insurance Coverage
Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy Services maintains a $1 million insurance policy. It protects your staff and residents should one of our volunteers or their animals cause any damage. We do not add facilities to our insurance policy but can send a Certificate of Insurance if requested.
The Process to Become a New Site
The approval process starts by filling out and submitting the new site application and paying the $200 New Site Fee via PayPal. Or print and mail/email the new site application form to us with a check. If your site is not approved, your fee will be refunded.
Once we receive your application and fee, we will then contact you to schedule a 15-minute phone conversation to explain our program to you and to review your requirements. After that, we will arrange for an on-site visit by one of our board members with their animal. They will provide a written assessment to our board of directors for review and action.
